Rockwool Insulation Batts (Isover Batts)/Rockwool Slabs/ Blocks In Kampala, Uganda – +254 722 401 175

Rockwool insulation batt/isover/slabs/blocks is a semi-rigid, full-fill insulation solution for masonry cavity wall construction, suitable for use in new builds or extensions. Dimensions are 1200mm*600mm*50/100mm.

Lightweight and easy to handle, the batts are simple to install and provide a close fit against brick and blockwork. Rockwool insulation batts are non-combustible and contain water repellent additives which prevent moisture transmission between the outer and inner leaf.

The Rockwool Batts are lightweight and easy to handle, making installation simple and providing a close fit against brick and blockwork, whilst also adapting to imperfections in the cavity wall. As a rigid full-fill insulation solution, the product ensures a resistance to fire spread between and within cavities. It acts as a barrier when tightly fitted between masonry leaves where an insulated wall connects with an uninsulated wall cavity.

Description

What are Rockwool Insulation Batts?

Rockwool Insulation translates the power of naturally occurring stone into modern insulation solutions. It is somewhat fascinating how this very basic resource around us can be transformed to enrich modern lives.

Rockwool, also known as mineral wool, is a type of insulation material made from a mixture of stone and slag. The stone and slag are heated in a high-temperature furnace to create a molten mixture. This mixture is then spun into thin fibres – think of it as cotton candy being spun from molten sugar.

These thin fibres are closely packed together to create pads which are known as rockwool insulation batts. These batts are then used between walls as part of insulation installation.

How does Rockwool help in fire protection?

Rockwool is a bad conductor of heat. It is also remarkably fire-resistant. When a fire starts in one area, there is a danger of the fire spreading to other areas rapidly through the walls. Since rockwool insulation batts are non-combustible, they can stop the fire from spreading to areas that are enclosed with walls that use this insulation.

Even in highly hazardous fire situations, rockwool insulation batts can slow down the spread of fire giving enough time for safe evacuation.

No Gap Insulation Rockwool Insulation Batts also have a high BAL (Bushfire Attack Level) rating.

Where to use Rockwool Insulation Batts?

These batts are specifically designed to use in:

  • Intertenancy and Party walls
  • Boundary walls
  • Individual apartments
  • Multi-residential buildings

Party walls are intertenancy walls between adjoining residences or offices. Australian building regulations recommend party walls to be built with double-width frames. This is to ensure that the walls have enough space to use fire insulation.

What are the benefits of using Rockwool Insulation Batts?

The key benefits of using rockwool insulation are:

  1. Fire resistance

Rockwool can withstand temperatures over 1000 degrees Celsius. It is also practically non-combustible making it an ideal insulation material in fireseal products.

  1. Thermal resistance

Rockwool insulation batts help maintain optimum indoor temperatures thus saving energy and reducing energy bills significantly.

  1. Acoustic insulation

Rockwool also has good acoustic insulation providing sound reduction. This is ideal for auditoriums and cinemas. It can also be used for residences and offices that are on a busy road.

  1. Moisture resistance

Rockwool insulation batts are moisture resistant. Thus, they don’t hold moisture keeping the insulation space dry and prevent the degradation of the building material used in the walls.

  1. Higher R-value

Rockwool insulation provides a higher R-value when compared to traditional insulation material such as fibreglass. They are denser than fibreglass insulation. This means that when compared to fibreglass, rockwool insulation batts can provide better insulation even when batts of the same thickness are used.

  1. Ease of installation

Rockwool insulation batts can be easily cut to size with a serrated blade. They can be wedged into insulation spaces for a tight fit.

  1. Durability

Rockwool insulation batts are not susceptible to rot, mildew, bacterial growth, or rodent infestation. This makes them a durable choice for insulation and gives you more value for money.
