Ceramic Fiber Ropes (Round & Square) | High-Temperature Thermal Sealing.

At Insulation World Kenya Limited, we supply durable ceramic fiber ropes in both round and square profiles, designed for high-temperature sealing, packing, and insulation applications. Manufactured from high-purity ceramic fiber yarn and optionally reinforced with fiberglass or stainless steel wire, these ropes provide exceptional thermal resistance, low thermal conductivity, and flexibility under extreme conditions.

Temperature Rating: Up to 1260°C
Available Profiles:

Round Ceramic Fiber Rope – Ideal for stuffing box applications, gasket seals, and door packing

Square Ceramic Fiber Rope – Suitable for sealing flanges, covers, and furnace door frames where a tighter seal is needed

Applications:
Perfect for sealing kiln and furnace doors, expansion joints, high-temperature gaskets, flue and duct insulation, and pipe wrapping in the steel, glass, ceramics, cement, and petrochemical industries.

We serve clients across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Zambia, Congo, and the greater East African region.

Description

Our Ceramic Fiber Ropes are resilient, high-temperature insulation materials available in both round braided and square braided forms. Manufactured from high-purity ceramic fiber yarns and reinforced with stainless steel wire, these ropes are designed to withstand extreme temperatures, making them ideal for thermal sealing, gasketing, and packing applications in industrial furnaces, boilers, kilns, and ovens.

 Available Types:

  • Round Braided Ceramic Rope
  • Square Braided Ceramic Rope

 Available Sizes (Diameter):
6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, 16 mm, 19 mm, 25 mm, 32 mm, 38 mm, 45 mm, 50 mm

 Temperature Resistance:

  • Continuous Use: Up to 1260°C

  • Peak Temperature: Up to 1400°C

What Are Ceramic Fiber Ropes Used For?

Ceramic fiber ropes are flexible thermal insulators that work by trapping heat within their tightly woven fibers. Because they don’t melt or burn easily, they’re ideal for:

  • Sealing gaps between hot surfaces—like furnace doors or oven lids—to stop heat from leaking out.

  • Wrapping around hot pipes or exhausts to protect nearby equipment or reduce heat loss.

  • Creating heat-resistant gaskets or expansion joints in high-temperature machinery.

They’re especially helpful in industrial environments where regular rubber or plastic seals would melt or fail.

Key Features:

  • High-Temperature Resistance: Handles extreme heat without degrading or losing shape.

  • SS Wire Reinforcement: Provides added strength, durability, and mechanical resistance under load.

  • Fireproof and Non-Combustible: Ideal for fire sealing and flame barriers.

  • Moisture and Chemical Resistance: Maintains insulation performance even in challenging conditions.

  • Flexible and Easy to Handle: Can be shaped and compressed into tight spaces for effective sealing.

  • Asbestos-Free and Safe to Use

Benefits of Using Ceramic Fiber Ropes:

Protects Equipment: Prevents heat damage to machinery and structural components.
Energy Efficiency: Reduces heat loss in high-temperature systems.
Improves Safety: Minimizes risk of burns, fire, and thermal-related equipment failure.
Low Maintenance: Once installed, it performs for a long time without needing replacement.
Versatile Use: Suitable for static and dynamic sealing applications.

Common Applications:

  • Furnace, Kiln & Boiler Door Seals

  • Gasketing for Oven Lids and Access Panels

  • Insulating High-Temperature Exhaust and Pipework

  • Sealing Expansion Joints in Industrial Ducts

  • Thermal Packing in Foundries, Refineries & Power Plants

  • Seals in Refractory Lining Systems
